Block and unblock an account
A account blocking feature in a bank is a critical control tool used to ensure regulatory compliance (judicial blocking, AML/CFT, etc.), prevent fraud (suspicious or fraudulent transactions), and manage administrative and contractual situations (customer due diligence updates, etc.).
General overview
- Some account blocks are partial (debit only), while others are complete (credit and debit).
- Blocks are made from the webdesk exclusively
- Banks are required to inform the customer, except in certain cases (e.g., when a judicial investigation is in progress).
Process
The block and unblock functionalities are available only through the Webdesk.
As a Webdesk user, you can block an account, but you cannot unblock it by yourself.
To unblock an account, please contact our Banking team through a zendesk ticket.
The status Frozen remains in use when an account is blocked.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that the correct term is “block” (or “account blocking”).
